Abstract

Education is considered as a powerful agency, which is helpful in bringing about the desired changes in the socio-economic life of our country. Process of education is given shape by the human personality called the teacher, plays an important role in system of education. Teacher is the focal point of any educational process. If the teacher’s quality is compromised, the educational program will fail. Position of teacher in the educational process is the most significant factor considered for educational reconstruction and teacher- his personal qualities, his educational qualifications, his professional training and the place he/she occupies both in school and in the society.  This research paper reflects study of teacher’s values and self concept on teaching competency of high school teachers of Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh state.
