Abstract

Faculty Development Program (FDP)is a “train the trainer” approach that can be utilized for blooming up improvements in the higher education system. Such programs will not only develop the quality of teaching learning, but also facilitate the prosperity of the individual institutes. Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Business incubation are the key factors that crown the present era, action oriented plans towards stimulating entrepreneurial intention among students is considered to be one of the most important Sustainable Development Goals of India at present. Entrepreneurship is celebrated as an important measure to economic development and encouraging start up ventures of innovative entrepreneurs are now at the rise. The Government initiatives such as ‘Make in India’, ‘Startup India’ ‘STEP’ are vital for entrepreneurship development in the nation.In this direction, this paper reports the insights of a two weeks National Level Faculty Development Program on Entrepreneurship conducted at the institute. Thisreal time study was taken up in order to compare the participants’ knowledge and attitude towards entrepreneurship before attending the FDP and also toassess the effectiveness of the FDP on the approach of the faculty towards entrepreneurship development. With an aim to find out the influence of the outcome of the FDP and its feasible chances of after-effect, a questionnaire was designed focusing on factors like relevance of the objective of the program, influence of the lecture sessions, learning from the industrial visits etc and  data was collected from the participants. The results elicited evidence of a positive impact of the FDP on the faculty approaches towards entrepreneurship development and entrepreneurial intention among the students of their own institution.
