Abstract

Financial inclusion is required for economic and social growth of the country. All the citizens should be part of growth and development. When the fruits of development will be equally distributed among various sections and unorganized sector and when the poor and deprived sections get the benefits of economic growth which the country gains, then one can say that, inclusive growth is achieved.


Banks plays a crucial role in financial inclusion. They are the change agents which ensure redistribution of wealth in the society. Provision of financial services is the main function of banks. If the poor people have an easy access to financial services, they can built savings, make investments, avail credit and reduce their poverty. Banks provides an avenue for bringing the savings of the poor into the mainstream of the economy and channels them into investment. The present paper throws light on banking outreach in the Kolhapur district.
