Study of Interstate Passenger Service offered by Selected State Transport Undertakings in India

Abstract

In India passenger transport is the main responsibility of state transport undertaking (STU) of each of the state. Every state is having their separate STU and through which the
particular state trying to reach each corner of the state. As per the Association of State Road transport Undertakings (ASRTU) presently there are 58 member STUs and 6
associate member STUs of ASRTU. Many of these STUs are operating limited to different city area only. All other STUs are having responsibility of proving affordable & efficient
passenger transport service limited to that state only. Passenger are now showing more inclination towards the service which provides them more comfort and less time
consuming options.
